Dan was born and raised in Minnesota and graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His first employment was in the insurance industry, and transfers brought him to the east coast where he was based in the Washington DC area.
Finding the corporate world less than satisfying, he moved to North Conway in 1972 to “rediscover” himself. After starving for 18 months, he found his passion in real estate.
A licensed broker since 1974, he is a former president and Realtor of the Year of the White Mt. Board of Realtors and has served on dozens of municipal and non-profit boards and professional organizations, including nine years on the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and 2 years as president.
He is current Board vice chair and capital campaign chair for Vaughan Community Services. Vaughan is a non-profit which runs the Conway town food pantry and operates the Vaughan Learning Center, which offers reduced fee daycare for working families.
The capital campaign hopes to raise $1,300,000 to build a new food pantry and clothing depot, and renovate the 10,000 sq. ft. Learning Center.
A founder of RE/MAX Presidential, Dan sold his ownership interest in 2006 to concentrate on residential and commercial brokerage. In 2007, Governor John Lynch appointed him to a seat on the NH Real Estate Commission where he has been chairman since 2011.
Dan makes his home in Center Conway with his wife of 44 years, Katrina.
