Southeast of Bridgton, Denmark is dotted with ponds, large and small, tucked away between the hills and valleys. The southern end of Moose Pond has many waterfront homes and cottages. Denmark also has its own share of the Saco River near the border with Brownfield. The population swells dramatically during the busy vacation season, when summer residents return to their mountain getaways and lakefront vacation homes. The town of Denmark gets its name from a small country in Scandinavia, Europe.
